Participating artists:

Bill Barminski
Best known for work in several mediums that include cardboard sculpture, advertising derived paintings and video animation. His cardboard sculptures of everyday objects such as shoes, spray cans and furniture are usually painted white and outlined in dark brown paint that capture a sense of 3 dimensional drawings. The best example of this style was the interactive Security Theater that served as the entrance to Banksy’s Dismaland in 2015. Before turning his attention to sculpture in the early 2000s, Barminski was well known for his paintings that explored themes surrounding consumerism and advertising. Barminski, who is a primarily self taught artist, has had over 20 solo shows since 1986. He lives in Los Angeles, California, works in a garage studio and has been teaching digital media in the Department of Film and Television at UCLA since 1998.

Casey Niccoli
An award-winning, self-taught American multimedia artist, grew up in 1960s Bakersfield, just a few doors down from country legend Buck Owens. As a shy child, she would hide out in her purple bedroom, listening to ‘Light My Fire’ by the Doors on repeat, crafting Mod Podge ‘Holly Hobbie’ plaques and papier-mâché animals, and nervously watching the sun, convinced it might crash into the earth and bring about the apocalypse at any minute. Her early creations, blending the divine with the handmade, reflected her unique artistic vision.
Niccoli garnered acclaim for her visionary collaborations with the alternative rock band Jane’s Addiction, pushing artistic boundaries and redefining the visual landscape of rock music. Now residing in the majestic California desert, she focuses mainly on creating expressive fine art mixed media collages, cherishing family moments, and writing her eclectic memoir, ‘Last Exit to the Strawberry Stars.’

DeeDee
A New York City-based Street artist who uses collage, paint, and silkscreen to bring surreal and cinematic daydreams (or nightmares) to life. It is in that world – between sleep and dream, between the surface and subconscious – where the viewer is invited to enter. Bringing the actual streets of New York into her work, Dee Dee collects actual street poster advertisements to create a capsule in time. Particularly in terms of identity, her work encapsulates themes of the seen and unseen, the hidden and the revealed.

Kerry Smith
An art director, graphic designer and painter, Kerry’s work has been exhibited in New York City, Los Angeles and London. Kerry has also been featured in the international publications of BookForum, Coze Magazine, PRINT, HOW, Logo Lounge, and 1,000 Dog Portraits.
Off The Record is a series of music-based paintings including record labels, ticket stubs and setlists. Off The Record combines his love for album art, graphic design and contemporary art; the series was inspired by Beck’s 2015 Grammy Award for best album.
